The IEEE Workshop on Advanced Robotics and its Social Impacts (ARSO) will take place in Austin, Texas, 8-10 March 2017. ARSO is a single track workshop featuring talks in diverse scientific, health, industrial, social, innovation, security areas and more. The series started in Nagoya in 2005, and traveled through Beijing (2006), Hsinchu (2007), Taipei (2008), Tokyo (2009), Seoul (2010), Half Moon Bay CA (2011), Munich (2012), Tokyo (2013), Evanston (2014), Lyon (2015), and Shanghai (2016). Participants are world class robotics research scientists, social, economic, legal and technology thinkers, innovators, investors and government officials. ARSO's topics range from traditional robotics technologies, innovation, socio-economic aspects, but also psychological and philosophical aspects of Human Robot Interaction.

The 2017 workshop will overlap with the famed South by Southwest (SXSW 2017 http://www.sxsw.com/) conference in Austin, featuring a powerful interactive festival with cutting-edge talks in topics highly connected to ARSO.
