IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Robotics and its Social Impacts (ARSO) is a single track workshop. It series started in Nagoya in year 2005, and traveled through Beijing (2006), Hsinchu (2007), Taipei (2008), Tokyo (2009), Seoul (2010), Half Moon Bay, CA (2011), Munich (2012), Tokyo (2013),Evanston (2014), and Lyon(2015), aiming at discussing advanced robotics R&D and its implications to economic and social systems. Participants will be world class robotic research scientists, investors and economists, as well as representatives of industry and government.

ARSO's topics range from traditional Robotics technologies, innovation, socio-economic aspects, but also psychological and philosophical aspects of Human Robot Interaction. The workshop, ARSO 2016, will be held in conjunction with the China International Robot Show (CIROS), CIROS 2016. The technical program of ARSO 2016 on 8-10 July 2016 will include a free one day visit of the exhibition, CIROS 2016, and a half day technical session and a round table shared by ARSO.

Conference Scope
All cutting-edge robotics technologies, including their business opportunities, as well as their present and potential impacts onthe human world. Applications of robots are highly encouraged, including, but not limited to, in manufacturing (including the new field of Robotics), healthcare and medical applications, service and assistance, transportation, search and rescue, entertainment, and education.

Paper Submission
Prospective authors should submit papers electronically in PDF format via PaperPlaza. Six pages in standard IEEE format areallowed for each paper. Up to two additional pages are permitted with an extra charge. Authors are encouraged to mention if they prefer an oral or an interactive presentation.
