ICRA 2014

The 2014 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, Hong Kong, China, from 31 May to 5 June 2014. Hong Kong, situated on China's south coast and enclosed by the Pearl River Delta and South China Sea, is renowned for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbor. Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated areas in the world, and serves as the one of the busiest gateway between the east and west. The conference theme is "Robotics and Automation: Technologies Enabling New Economic Growth" reflecting the growing spectrum and recent developments in robotics and automation around the world.

The conference will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) is the largest convention and exhibition centre in Hong Kong, and has been named "Asia's Best Convention and Exhibition Centre" for nine times by readers of CEI Asia magazine, a leading regional publication.

It is located in Wan Chai, North of Hong Kong Island. Built along the Victoria Harbour, it is linked by covered walkways to nearby hotels and commercial buildings. The venue was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, in association with Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd.

T-ASE at Ten: A Celebratory Panel at ICRA 2014

The first issue of the IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering (T-ASE) appeared in July 2004. In this panel, leading researchers and members of the Editorial and Advisory Boards will be joined by RAS Leaders to reflect on the first decade of the journal, including history, highlights, and plans for the future.

The WIE luncheon provides an opportunity for all the female and male professionals who are interested in women engineering education to discuss the subjects of career path, career/family choices, and other topics. There is a $5 USD registration fee to attend.

Calling all RA Society members, and those interested in learning more about IEEE Conferences! RAS VP of Conferences Oussama Khatib and the RAS Conference Activities Board (CAB) Associate VPS will hold a Town Hall meeting of the membership at ICRA 2014 in Hong Kong. The focus will be on the RAS Conference Team restructure, RAS current conference portfolio and the future of conferences. A Panel Discussion will be held following short presentations by each of the RAS Conference Vice President and Associate Vice Presidents.
