RECENT ACTIVITIES:

  • Our TC technically co-sponsors the IROS2021 Workshop on Bio-inspired, Bio-mimetic and Bio-hybrid (Cyborg) Systems proposed by Prof. Hirotaka Sato, NTU. 
  • Our TC supports the IROS2021 Workshop on “Challenges and Opportunities of Human-robot Symbiosis: from Wearable Robots to Neurorobotics”, proposed by Prof. Wenlong Zhang.
    • Next CBS will be held in 2022 in Wuhan.
    • CBS2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemics.
  • We participated in establishing new international journal whose scopes are the same as our TC’s. Science Partner Journal Cyborg and Bionic Systems is an online-only Open Access journal published in affiliation with Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and distributed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The editor in chief is Prof. Toshio Fukuda. The deputy editors-in-chief are Prof. Qiang Huang, Prof. Abderrahmane Kheddar, Prof. Alois Knoll, and the Nigel Lovell. 

The first issue was published in January, 2021. Until now, 32 papers have been submitted, 20 papers published and 2 papers rejected.

PAST ACTIVITIES:

  • Our TC technically cosponsored IEEE International Symposium on Micro-Nano Mechatronics and Human Science, in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. 
  • Our TC technically cosponsored 2019 IEEE International Conference on Advance Robotics and its Social Impact(ARSO) held on Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2019 in Beijing, China. It included 103 participants, 3 plenary and 3 keynote talks, 19 technical sessions in 3 parallel tracks, 109 oral presentations, 2 best paper awards and 2 best student paper awards.
  • IEEE International Conference on Cyborg and Bionic Systems (CBS2019) was held in Munich on September 18-20, 2019. The general chair was Prof. Alois Knoll, TUM and the program chair Prof. Rüdiger Dillmann, KUT. It had 106 participants, plenary talk, 2 keynotes talks, 8 technical sessions, 59 talks, and interactive session.  

 

 

  • IEEE International Conference on Cyborg and Bionic Systems (CBS2018) was held in Shenzhen on October 25-27, 2018. The general chair was Prof. Guanglin Li, CAS, and the program chair Prof. Makoto Kaneko, Osaka University. It had 183 participants. 2 plenary talks, 7 keynote talks, 24 technical sessions in 3 parallel tracks, and 59 oral presentations. 1 best paper award and 1 best student paper award.

  • Our TC started original international conference and organized its first conference, IEEE International Conference on Cyborg and Bionic Systems (CBS2017) held in Beijing on October 17-19, 2017. The general chairs were Prof. Toshio Fukuda, Meijo University, and Prof. Qiang Huang, BIT. The program chair was Prof. Tatsuo Arai, BIT. It had 103 participants. 2 plenary talks, 3 keynote talks, 14 technical sessions in 3 parallel tracks, and 64 oral presentations. 2 best paper awards and 2 best student paper awards.
