Biography

Jan Peters is a full professor (W3) for Intelligent Autonomous Systems at the Computer Science Department of Technische Universitaet Darmstadt and at the same time an adjunct senior research scientist at the Max-Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems. Jan Peters PhD Thesis received the Dick Volz Best US PhD Thesis Runner Up Award of 2007 based on thesis quality and post thesis impact. Jan Peters studied and performed research in Munich, Japan, Singapore and Los Angeles. In the process, he obtained a PhD in Computer Science from University of Southern California as well as four MSc degrees (Computer Science, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Informatics).
