Maker Faire Africa: Africa's 1st ingenuity, invention and innovation event

Maker Faire Africa will be a 3 day event which will showcase a robotic workshop, green technology, inventors, a mobile app/SMS workshop and several entrepreneurs in  high-technology.

 MFA is to take place Aug 14th - 16th in Accra, Ghana. Staff and studends of  several academic and research instititutions  will take part; including MIT IDDS, MIT Fablab, Carnegie Mellon TechBridgeWorld, Arizona state and TED.com. TED global fellow, William Kamkwamba will showcase his work on building a windmill from a donated text book from the United States...check out his TED video.
