RAS AdCom Nominations

The Robotics and Automation Society membership will be electing six new members of the Administrative Committee in October to serve a three year term beginning in January 2008. The AdCom is the governing body of our society.
Responsiblilities of AdCom members
AdCom members must attend the two meetings each year, one in conjunction with ICRA and the other in October/November, usually in conjunction with another major conference. Each Adcom members also serves on at least two of the major boards and/or committees of the society.
Any higher grade member of the society is eligible to serve and all higher grade members plus graduate students may nominate candidates and vote. To nominate a candidate or offer yourself as a candidate, contact Art Sanderson, Corresponding Co-Chair of the Nominations Committee by August 1.
Candidates may also petition to be on the ballot. All petitions with valid signatures with at least 2% of the year end voting membership (111 this year). Petitions with at least 25 valid signatures will be seriously considered by the Nominating Committee. Either paper or electronic petitions may be used. Contact the Society Administrator, Rosalyn Snyder, r.g.snyder@ieee.org, to obtain a paper petition form or set up an electronic petition. Petitions must be submitted by August 1, so don't procrastinate!
