Special issue on Multi-Agent Systems for Ubiquitous Enterprises

A ubiquitous enterprise is equipped with distributed and simultaneous information processing capability through ubiquitous agents. These agents are created by the integration of small, inexpensive, robust and networked ubiquitous computing (ubicomp) devices with business objects and activities for their control and communication anywhere anytime. Resulting Multi-Agents Systems (MAS) play important roles in distributed enterprise decisions in manufacturing, logistics and supply chain management. Autonomous agents are decentralized with local views on their own state of affairs. They must negotiate with each other to establish a collaborative plan for solving a common problem.

The aim of this special issue is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to review the state-of-the-art technologies and to identify critical issues and challenges for future research and development in MAS and Ubiquitous Enterprises. Guest editors are inviting original contributions related, but not limited, to the topics under the following Research and Application categories respectively:
