Act Now! IROS 2016 Call for Papers Deadline is 1 March 2016!
The 2016 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2016) will be held in Daejeon, Korea, during 9-14 October 2016. The venue for IROS 2016 is the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC). The conference theme is "Road to Companionship with Intelligent Robots in Everyday Life and Workspaces."
Innovative research results on topics related (but not limited) to the following are invited: robot design, robot kinematics/dynamics/control, system integration, AI in robotics, sensor/actuator networks, distributed and cloud robotics, bio-inspired systems, service robots, robotics in automation, biomedical applications, autonomous vehicles (land, sea, and air), robot perception, manipulation with multi_ nger hands, micro/ nano systems, sensor information, multimodal interface and human robot interaction, and robot vision.
Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality papers representing original results in all areas of robotics. Best Conference Papers and Best Student Papers will be awarded.
IROS 2016 provides authors with four options of preference to present their paper. Authors are expected to indicate their preference when the papers are submitted. The IROS 2016 Senior Program Committee, which is in charge of making the final decisions about accepted papers and presentation modes, will try to respect the preferences of the authors as much as possible thereby also considering the contents of the paper and the capacity of the facility. The presentation preference expressed by the authors has no effect on the evaluation of the paper and its acceptance. The four different options for presenting the papers are:
* Oral Presentation: 12-minute presentation (each) + 3 minutes of discussion (each) (venue capacity: 140).
* Interactive Presentation: 1 minute of semi-plenary teaser presentation (each)+ 90 minutes of interactive discussion (total) (30 presenter in each session) with PDP TV (40?) to be provided (venue capacity: 600).
* Interactive Demonstration: 1 minute of semi-plenary teaser presentation(each)+ 90 minutes of demonstration & discussion (total) (required) / One day of demonstration (recommended) / A booth (2m x 2m) to be provided free of charge (venue capacity: 600, Halls).
* Video Presentation: 1~3 minutes of video play (each) + 5 minutes of discussion (each)/ videos to be played repeatedly throughout the day (venue capacity: 200, IROS Lounge)
