ICRA 2021- Call for Papers Deadline w/ RAL Letters Option
A unique feature of RA-L is the opportunity for authors to publish a paper in a peer-reviewed journal and present the same paper at the annual flagship conferences of RAS, including the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), the IEEE Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE), and the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS). Additional conferences are consideed for RA-L with conference option on an annual basis. While submission to RA-L is open throughout the year, there are specific time windows during which authors have an option for their submission to be also considered for presentation at the selected conferences.
Manuscripts submitted to RA-L with a Conference option undergo a regular RA-L review. However, the results of the first review round by the LEB, with all comments by referees and editors, are passed along to the Conference Senior Program Committee (SPC), which uses them to decide on the inclusion of these manuscripts in the program of the Conference. The Conference Editorial Boards (CEB) continues to provide reviews and comments for all manuscripts submitted directly to the Conference (i.e., not submitted to RA-L also).
A manuscript accepted for RA-L and included in the Conference program appears in IEEE Xplore as RA-L. It is however possible that a paper submitted to RA-L with the Conference option is accepted for presentation at the Conference but finally rejected for RA-L; in this case, the paper will appear in the Conference Proceedings. The converse is also possible: A manuscript first reviewed by the RA LEB may not be accepted for presentation at the Conference by the SPC, but its revision (capitalizing on editorial comments and suggestions) may eventually be published in the RA-L. The timing of all reviewing procedures and decisions guarantees the feasibility of these options.
Altogether, the final program of a Conferences with the RA-L option features presentations of work that is or will be archived in IEEE Xplore in either RA-L or the Conference Proceedings.
