POSTPONED: WF-IoT 2020- World Forum on The Internet of Things

From 5 Apr, 2020 until 9 Apr, 2020

IEEE has been monitoring the developing Coronavirus outbreak closely.  The safety and well-being of all conference participants is our priority. After studying and evaluating the announcements, guidance, and news released by relevant national departments, we are sorry to announce that WFIoT2020, scheduled to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana will be postponed to a later date.

WFIoT2020 has a truly outstanding lineup of events and talent that spans much of the best in IoT. We have considered many options for preserving the hard work and effort on the part of the participants, volunteers, and organizers.  There is still considerable uncertainty of how the situation will evolve, and significant details that still need to be worked out for what is possible going forward. In the interest of notifying you as quickly as possible, we are taking the following actions:

  • Postponing WF-IoT2020 with a goal of rescheduling to 2021 in New Orleans. We will announce the new Conference dates and confirm the location as soon as we are able. We encourage all who were involved with special sessions, tutorials, workshops and submitted papers to continue as part of the event in 2021. We also invite all of the Plenary, Vertical Tracks and Topical Track speakers who accepted our invitation to speak at the WFIoT2020 to be part of the conference going forward.
  • We will hold a “Virtual IoT Forum” in which authors whose papers were reviewed and accepted to WFIoT2020 can present and subsequently be published in IEEE Xplore. Alternatively, authors can choose to withdraw their papers and submit them to the 2021 conference. We will also hold a “Virtual PhD/Masters Forum” as a stand-alone event for those who submitted papers to WFIoT2020.
  • The IoT Day Slam2020 will be held as scheduled on April 9th, 2020 but will be a virtual event. If you agreed to be a speaker for one of the Virtual and Topical Tracks, we encourage you to let us know if you would like to participate in the Virtual IoT Day Slam2020 Program instead.

We will follow up on this announcement shortly with additional details, and hope that all of you will be involved in the Virtual Programs and participate in the postponed WFIoT2020 conference next year.
