Internationally recognized by the EPSRC and ERC as a leading figure in Robotics, Kaspar Althoefer is a pioneer in soft robotics and tactile perception. As a Professor of Robotics Engineering at Queen Mary University of London, and Co-Founder/Director of the Centre for Advanced Robotics @ Queen Mary, he has made significant contributions to the fields of surgery, rehabilitation, manufacturing, construction, and the nuclear sector.

Kaspar played a pivotal role in bringing the prestigious ICRA conference to the UK for the first time in its 40-year history, successfully hosting the 2023 event in London, attracting over 6,000 attendees and winning the 2023 ABPCO Excellence Award. Throughout his career, Kaspar has secured over £10M in funding, managed projects exceeding £50M, and published over 500 peer-reviewed papers (GS-h-index: 66). Recently, he was awarded a prestigious ERC Synergy grant for the groundbreaking EndoTheranostics project, advancing research in robot-assisted diagnosis and therapy for colon cancer.
