Cognitive Robotics

Scope

There is growing need for robots that can interact safely with people in everyday situations. These robots have to be able to anticipate the effects of their own actions as well as the actions and needs of the people around them.

RELEVANT ONGOING INITIATIVES AND PROJECTS

euROBIN – the european excellence network on AI-powered Robotics
As robots are entering unstructured environments with a large variety of tasks, they will need to quickly acquire new abilities to solve them. Humans do so very effectively through a variety of methods of knowledge transfer – demonstration, verbal explanation, writing, the Internet. In robotics, enabling the transfer of skills and software between robots, tasks, research groups, and application domains will be a game changer for scaling up the robot abilities. Towards this, the euROBIN network aims to advance AI tools, software, architectures, and hardware components in a reproducible Approach. Project Website: https://www.eurobin-project.eu/index.php
EuroCore repository – a vehicle for transferability in Robotics
The main vehicle intended for transfer within the euROBIN project is the EuroCore repository. It will contain the software tools and common infrastructure needed for implementing transferable robotic Solutions.
