Whole-Body Control

Scope

With growing research interest in robotics, robots have become increasingly proficient in performing many different, non-trivial tasks, such as running, jumping, climbing stairs, and manipulating objects. In most cases, however, each of these tasks is addressed individually, and this imposes a fundamental limitation on the use of robots in the real world.

Activities

Happy Hour hosted by the IEEE-RAS TC on Whole-Body Control and TC on Model-Based Optimization for Robotics at Humanoids Conference 2024

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, a social event was held at the Little Delirium Café during the Humanoids 2024 conference. The event was organized jointly by the IEEE-RAS Technical Committee (TC) on Whole-Body Control (WBC) and the TC on Model-Based Optimization for Robotics (MBO).

Originally scheduled to occur before the conference banquet, the event proved so successful that it continued even after the banquet, remaining at the same venue. The event was well-received, bringing together young and senior researchers, professors, and technical professionals in a lively and engaging atmosphere. Many attendees expressed enthusiasm for repeating such events at future Humanoids conferences.
