Publications

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) is committed to advancing innovation, knowledge, and excellence in robotics and automation. Our publications serve as a global platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to share groundbreaking ideas, cutting-edge technologies, and practical applications that shape the future of intelligent systems.
On this page, you will find essential resources and guidelines related to our journals, magazines, and submission processes, both RAS Sponsored Publications, Co-sponsored Publications and Technically Co-sponsored Publications. Whether you are preparing a manuscript, submitting a video, or exploring ethical standards, these links provide everything you need to contribute to and benefit from the RAS community.
Our portfolio includes leading publications such as RA-L, RA-M, T-ASE, T-RO, T-FR and RA-P, along with tools and programs designed to support authors, reviewers, and young researchers. We also provide guidance on topics like plagiarism, generative AI usage, Double-Anonymous Review Process

Presenting Your ToH Paper at IEEE RAS Conferences

Authors of an accepted IEEE Transactions on Haptics (ToH) paper are offered the opportunity to present their work at one of the upcoming IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) sponsored conferences, provided the paper is an original ToH contribution (i.e., not an evolved conference paper) and the presentation is confirmed within the applicable time window.

Eligible paper types: Regular Papers, Short Papers, and Special Issue Papers (original ToH papers)
Not eligible: Evolved papers (expanded from prior conference versions), Survey Articles, and Research Notes.

Eligible Conferences

  • IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA)
  • IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS)
  • IEEE World Haptics Conference (WHC)
  • IEEE Haptics Symposium (HS)
  • IEEE International Conference on Soft Robotics (RoboSoft)
  • more will be added

Process and Timing

There are no conference-specific submission deadlines for eligible ToH papers. After acceptance, authors will receive an invitation survey via ScholarOne Manuscripts to indicate their interest in presenting at one of the eligible conferences.

  • The paper must be confirmed for presentation within 270 days of the ToH acceptance date.
  • Each accepted ToH paper may be presented at only one RAS-sponsored conference.
  • Requests to accelerate or delay the ToH review process to fit conference windows cannot be accommodated.

Notes on Conference Transfer and Paper Eligibility

  • Only original ToH papers (not evolved from prior conference versions) are eligible for this presentation option.
  • Authors will receive an email from the ToH Editorial Office (via ScholarOne) after acceptance with instructions for confirming conference presentation.
  • Papers accepted within the specified windows will be included in the eligible conference presentation lists, subject to confirmation by the conference organizing committee.
  • Conference presentation does not affect the archival status of the ToH publication; the paper remains a full journal publication.
