This standard defines a basic data model, data exchange format, and application framework of semantic maps for autonomous robots based on the requirements from use cases in IEEE Standard P3140.1. The purpose of this standard is to establish a common ground for application of semantic maps for autonomous robots to provide intelligent services to human users. The standard aims to define a fundamental data model to structure and represent semantic map data, data exchange format to exchange semantic map information between the robots, and specification of an application framework to support development of applications utilizing the semantic maps for autonomous robots.
