The 2021 International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2021) will take place from May 30 to June 5, 2021 at Xi’an International Convention and Exhibition Center in Xi’an, China. Due to the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the ICRA 2021 will be held in a hybrid format, including simultanious on-site and cloud meetings. Located in the central-northwest China, Xi’an records the great change of the country just like a living history book. Called Chang’an (meaning the eternal city) in ancient times, it is one of the borthplaces of the ancient Chinese civilization in the Yellow River Basin area. As the eastern terminal of the Silk Road and the site of the famous Terra Cotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty (221-207 BC), the city has won a reputation all over the world. More than 3,000 years of history including over 1,100 years as the capital city of ancient dynasties, have endowed the city with an amazing historical heritage. Travellers marvel at the numerous historical sites and cultural relics in the city. Xi’an is the capital of Shaanxi Province, China, a sub-provincial city on the Guanzhong Plain in Northwestern China. Since the 1990s, as part of the economic revival of inland China especially for the central and northwest regions, the city of Xi’an has re-emerged as an important culture, industrial and educational center of the central-northwest region, with facilities for research and development, national security and space exploration. It is the most populous city in Northwest China and named as one of the 13 emerging megacities, or megalopolises, in China.

The ICRA 2021 conference promises to be a great event with excellent technical and social programs, with hybrid simultanious on-site and cloud meetings. Paper manuscripts reporting original research results on all aspects of robotics, AI and automation are welcome. Proposals for tutorials and workshops, and organized sessions, on emerging topics and innovative applications with significant impact are invited. Video clips illustrating original and impactful results are invited for video sessions. Exhibits from both industries and research labs are welcome. All submited contributions will be evaluated for the various awards associated with the ICRA 2021 conference. Plenary and keynote presentations from the world top achievers in robotics, AI and automation will be invited and delivered.
